アイスクリームの日 (ice cream no hi) – Ice cream day

9th May –皐月

In 1964, an Organisation called 東京アイスクリーム協会 ( Tokyo Ice cream Kyoukai) established 9th May as “ice cream day”. They donated ice creams to the hospitals and schools and held events.

In Japan there are various different ice creams exist – from funny tastes to rich tastes, beautiful looks and so on!

Today’s blog I would like to recommend some of my favorite ice cream you can have in Japan.

-パピコ (Papiko) – crushed ice with sweet chocolate coffee tastes. The best part is you can share half with friend!

-ICE BOX – Grapefruit taste ice. Very refreshing and exhilarating so it is perfect to have it after doing sports!

-爽 (Sou) – little ice crushes with rich vanilla tastes. Even it has rich taste, it is also refreshing after eating!

-アイスの実 (Aisu no Mi) – juicy fruits tastes. Each balls have coating so it does not melt easily when you pick them with finger. Sharing with friends and family is always awesome!

-雪見大福 (Yukimi Daifuku) – vanilla ice cream wrapped by soft rice cake (Mochi). there are only 2 ice bowls in one pack however the combination of vanilla and Mochi is out of world!

-MOW – Rich milk flavor. Great vanilla smell and the richest creamy tastes. I think this is my No. 1 favorite ice cream!

I started my new project 'Little Japan Dictionary' for the purpose of spreading the Japanese culture to the world. My English could be a bit weird sometimes as I am still learning, also the information I provide here could be wrong and contain my own opinion. Therefore, I would like you to just chill and enjoy gaining some interesting knowledge from here without serious argument. Hope you like it, thank you!

      2. Wow, still interesting to know that fact and I would like to try! Seems like pretty similar to Japanese shaved ice, pouring fruit syrup on the top of shaved ice! Maybe you can make new ice cream business in Nepal:)
Thank you for sharing your culture!
